The 2009 Texas Heart Institute Great Pumpkin Fun Run celebrated a healthy Halloween with perhaps the most successful event ever. A record 2,600 participants, the most since bringing the event back in 2004 after a four-year hiatus to design, fund and build the new Texas Heart Institute, enjoyed a resplendent fall morning, energizing music by The Guzzlers, great food and beverages, and, as always, a wonderful Children's Costume Contest, emceed by Dr. Billy Cohn, for kids infant to five years old. The entire Texas Heart Institute team wishes to thank all of you who raced, sponsored, volunteered, wore costumes, and supported the Texas Heart Institute by attending. We would like to especially acknowledge Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas for its generous assistance. We hope to see you all again next year!
