Dear Friend of the Texas Heart Institute,
As you can see, Dr. Cooley has his racing gloves on and is listening for the roar – that is, the roar of the 48th running this weekend of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
If that doesn't get your heart racing, then consider that the No. 7 car, the Corvette of the Godstone Ranch Motorsports team, will be racing under the banner of the Texas Heart Institute. Proceeds from the race team's efforts are generously earmarked to support THI's mission to reduce the devastating toll of heart disease through innovative programs in research, education and improved patient care.
Some very big names in racing are on the team and you can learn more about it on this website or at the race team's website http://www.godstoneranchmotorsports.com.
The Godstone car placed third in the recent warm-up race at Daytona and hopes are riding high. One of the drivers, John McCutchen II, and Godstone Ranch founder Karen Garrett earlier this week presented driver's gloves worn in that race to Dr. Cooley. As you can see, he's proud to slip them on.
The January 30-31 race will be televised worldwide to an estimated audience of almost 40 million people on the Speed network, FX and ESPN International. We hope that you tune in and support our team for a victory both on and off the track.

As a supporter, you know that the nonprofit Texas Heart Institute depends largely on generous gifts like yours and like that of the fabulous men and women of the Godstone Ranch Motorsports team. You also know that heart disease remains the nation's No. 1 killer. Our hopes will be at the finish line Sunday, but our challenge doesn't end there.
Respectfully yours,

James T. Willerson, MD
President and Medical Director
